Pegusus To Build $1 Billion Ghost Town in New MexicoIf deserted city scenes from zombie/apocalypse movies creep you out don’t visit Lea County, NM. A company called Pegasus is planning on building a $1 billion dollar ghost town in New Mexico for the purpose of testing a variety of latest and greatest technologies. This could cover anywhere from latest renewable energy tech to terrorist security systems. We here at your Shrewsbury Nissan Dealer think this is a great idea and we would love to visit to play out our zombie apocalypse fantasies.

The city will look like any other city, loads of office buildings , homes, and roads. The only difference is there aren’t any people. The site could be used to test self-driving cars, smart grids, citywide wireless networks or any number of other cool technologies that Pegasus clients may need.

Pegasus is expected to begin on this ghost city on June 30th with an initial run of construction costing somewhere in the area of $400 million. The site is expected to also create 350 permanent jobs and 3,500 temporary jobs as construction takes place and people need to be hired to maintain the city.
