Women sleep better, women have better health, and women live longer.
According to associate professor Daniel J. Bice, professor of psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh, all these things are connected with each other. Moreover, even in the families with little children, mothers sleep much better than dads. The doctors from the University of Pittsburgh consider that women’s sound sleep and longer duration of their life are directly linked.
The studies show that women not only sleep healthier, but in general longer than men. This is despite the fact that women are more prone to insomnia, and often complain of lack of sleep.
The study of more than fifteen hundred patients showed that 30% of women and only 22% of men sleep 8 hours or more.
The special revelation of the study is the fact that mothers of young children sleep much more than fathers.
The reason is in the different nature of men’s and women’s sleep – the deep phase of sleep in women occurs almost immediately after falling asleep. Therefore, lack of sleep does not affect the health of women, like men’s health.
